LAST-MINUTE ELOPEMENT in Valletta

What do you get when you combine the notion of old city and romance? The Elopement destination of your dream! Dust off your bikini, take your scuba mask and pack your favourite dress… this will be a weekend of romance like no other. Nothing says hot passion quite like a romantic elopement in Malta.

So, this beautiful couple asked me to plan their elopement wedding, but they didn't know exactly where! The couple would plan a trip in Autumn and wanted to tie the knot in a romantic city with a wedding ceremony overlooking the sea.

I was determined to make their dream come true.

I didn't have much time though, only 8 weeks to plan the whole thing.

I suggested them enchanting places in Italy and Malta, which suited their needs, especially the financial ones. But when the couple laid eyes on Valletta, they intuitively knew that this was the venue where they would promise to love each other forever. The couple had a specific vision for the wedding and knew what they wanted. I started plan every single detail from hotel booking to choosing the best suppliers.

On the day of the wedding, the bride chose a sequin beaded country chic wedding dress with falling straps. The bride carried an oversized bouquet made with white and lush greenery, tied together with a long white ribbon. The groom showed his style with a light black suit, he looked absolutely amazing as he arrived at the venue's garden to meet his beloved for their first look before the ceremony.

The first look was emotional. They exchanged their vows in a romantic Symbolic Wedding ceremony overlooking the sea in Upper Barrakka Gardens. The Mediterranean sea backdrop, the gardens and a few words of love are ideal to create the perfect ceremony.

Once the exchange of promises of love was over, a photo shooting took place in the city centre between roads and the historic buildings. The most unexpected moment was when the wind blew off the bride’s veil right outside the cathedral. Which in the end, turned out to be a blessing in disguise for our photographers, who took amazing pictures.

The traditional bouquet toss took place in front of the amazing fountain in central Valletta with a twist: the bride changed her Roman wedding dress to a modern style with a low v-back.
